Welcome to Pepin Elementary School!
Since 1854, the community of Pepin has supported the goal of education for all of its children. One of the most famous of those children was the author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, who was a student at the Barry Corner School in rural Pepin County. From the many small rural school houses of Pepin County came to be Pepin Area Schools, which today offers a rigorous and thoughtful education, grades K-12.
We strive to teach and develop each child to his or her fullest potential. We do this by involving the three most important components of a child’s educational life; students, parents and teachers working together. Small class sizes mean that there is a lot of individualization given to each learner.
We offer music, physical education, art, technology, health and guidance to all grades. STEAM is offered to students in grades 4-6 and instrumental music is available to all students in grades 5 and 6. Programming is available for special needs students. Pre-kindergarten (preschool) is available to all four year olds in the district. Our library media center and technology help to extend our classroom far beyond our walls.
